I first started reading these books in high school. I didn't notice until later when I was an adult that some of McCaffrey's writing implied bisexual relationships. I mean, there's no hot sex between men, but the idea that men are probably having sex together when their dragons are is in there, if you look for it.

Later, toward the end of her life, McCaffrey joined forces with her son to write a few more books set in that universe, in which gay and bisexual people were more explicitly drawn.

But still no hot sex! No descriptions of sex of any kind.

These are beautiful, wholesome books. It would take a truly depraved mind to find them pornographic.
