I first heard the term “bug chaser” only a few years ago, and it set my teeth on edge, in all honesty. I found the concept offensive and disrespectful to the men and women faced with despair and stark choices in the 80s and through the mid 90s.

I first wrote about Brad then, in a simple essay. The COVID-19 crisis stirred up some eerie and dark memories for me, so I decided to tell Brad’s story in much more depth.
