I feel this a lot. Like you, I once had a high powered career and all the trimmings and trappings that come from that. I’ve been through many different stages, but living the country artist’s life in a humble but comfortable cottage suits me right down to the toes.
The trimmings and trappings don’t matter. I wonder, though, how I might have coped if I’d had a child to raise. I might have had a harder time abandoning the stability of “success.”
