I feel so anachronistic sometimes when I say something like, “We’re here we’re queer get used to it.” What felt so daring and powerful in the 1990s can come off today as almost superfluous.

Yet as you remind us, the sentiment that made that phrase necessary has not died, and is in some cases just barely hidden.
