I feel in many ways the same as you, despite the fact that I’m about a generation older. Part of me is thrilled that Pete is running and that he’s doing so well. I identify with him so much given my roots in Iowa, my military career, and even an ability with languages. I think I understand the sorts of things he had to do to as excel as a closeted gay man, because I had to do the same things.

Politically, though, I find myself to the left of him, and I would prefer a different candidate to win the nomination. But even so, I find myself cheering him on. A big part of me really hopes he takes the Democratic nod, so I can get behind him 100%.
