I dunno. What I’m hearing on the activist grapevine is bad. People in the know are saying the Act is for all intents and purposes dead until at least the midterm elections, unless Biden changes course and spends significant political capital. Having Buttigieg and other LGBTQ people in the administration will actually give him political cover, I’m afraid. He will be able to legitimately point to how inclusive he is, even as he doesn’t do the hard work to muscle the Act through Congress.

I really hope I’m wrong, but it looks like he made a promise he didn’t intend to keep.
