I drove my elderly neighbor to a post-surgical appointment not too long ago, and when we got to the registration desk, they asked her for a $75 copay. She hadn't realized a copay would be due, because she didn't understand the system. (Who would?) She asked to be billed, explaining that it was close to the end of the month, and that she didn't feel comfortable emptying her bank account.

They didn't provide any services until she forked over the money. They even have a sign over the desk saying that services will not be rendered until copays are made.

You can't just not pay. That's not how it works. That's not how any of this works.
