I doubt quite sincerely that anyone actually fears trans people. They simply judge trans people and other queer people based on their ignorance, their religion, or what have you. That's something else about your commenter when I interacted with him. He kept insisting that fear is involved somehow.

He must know that's ridiculous. Which is just another reason to challenge him on his arrogant transphobia.

The idea that there's something to be afraid of is just ... inane. Saying doesn't make it so. It's just an attempt to the oppression.

If he continues interacting with me, I'll press him to explain exactly what the fear is. And I'm sure I'll once again show how utterly and completely wrong he is.
