I don't think that's true. Police culture in the United States is thoroughly disgusting. Most cops are pigs, as we used to say back in the day. Seriously, cops are authoritarian, bullying, rude, aggressive, and they jump to extreme violence at the drop of a pin.

Every day on YouTube, you can watch new videos of cops acting like depraved animals towards citizens, approaching them with overt hostility, brutaliing them for "resisting" when it's obvious on the body cam that they were just reacting normally to violence.

The kicker is, that this kind of stuff only comes to light because citizens force the police to release body cam footage. Ordinary people react in horror, but police departments almost always rule that the cops were acting appropriately.

Because police culture in the United States is sickeningly violent and out of control. Because most cops are pigs.

It's not a few bad cops. It's the culture, which is brutal and disgusting.

It's the leadership, which reinforces the brutal behavior and rewards it.

We need serious reform, top to bottom, and we need to realize that it's not just a few bad cops. The system is sick and broken, and most cops are pigs.
