I don't think K-3 students need detailed sex education appropriate for teens, nor do I think lack of such sex education keeps kids ignorant or makes them vulnerable to predation. Some introcuctory education is doubtless a good idea, and schools routinely teach kids about the danger of predators. What I'm writing about here is the false notion -- the red herring -- that kindergartens and early primary schools are, or are trying to, provide the kind of explicit sex education to 5 to 8 year olds that teenagers receive in high school. See a comment just above by a mother who wrongly believes small children are being exposed to lesbian porn and strap-on lessons.
