I don’t know why this is simple for people to get. If people participate in a religion that doesn’t allow same-sex marriage, then they’re perfectly free not to marry same-sex partners and not to conduct same-sex weddings in their church buildings.

What any of that has to do with people who follow other religions or no religion, I fail to understand.

There are no religious liberty issues even involved here.
