I don't know where you set the story, and of course it's not really important, but when you referenced Christopher Street and 7th Avenue, I thought of New York City. I've taken the Amtrak several times from NYC to Montreal, not because it's fast or convenient, because it's kind of the opposite of that, but because it's a stunningly beautiful route.

That made the chilling parts of the story all the more chilling as I imagined them set against a gorgeous New England backdrop.
