I don't know what it's going to take for the American people to demand that politicians leave transgender people alone, demand that trans people be allowed to live openly with dignity and freedom.

Will there be a backlash to the backlash? Quite possibly. Trump and his cruel minions are already beginning to wreak havoc. Quite possibly, the abject cruelty will register in the collective American consciousness.

But we have a very rough road ahead.

I don't think it's possible to predict where it's going to take us. One thing I know, is it all people of decency and good will have to keep sharing our stories.
