I don't know, to be honest with you. I would probably have mentioned health and safety as the primary reason for staying closeted, but to be frank, this is not a topic I've thought deeply about.

Off the cuff, I'd say people should be free to exist and live as they wish, so long as they don't harm others. I would feel 'wrong" about trying to strong-arm any individual human into doing something they don't want to do.

I wouldn't feel wrong about persuading and trying to make a case, but there's a line there, isn't there? I don't know how to define when that line gets crossed.

Sounds like you should write on the topic, though! You've clearly thought more about it than I have.
