I don't know if many people know this, but Marilyn Monroe is kind of an icon among gay men of a certain age, meaning old guys like me.

She's not up there with Barbra and Judy (that would be blasphemy!) but she's up there, and gay men in my circle are grumbling about this non-biopic biopic. Gay men of a certain age are more likely than most to know a lot about Marilyn's life and to be excited about a film project featuring her.

Those two likelihoods are clashing right now, with lots of gay guys shaking their heads and asking themselves, "What the hell did I just watch, and why?"
