I don't know how you claim that his story challenges our hearts. This man IS a monster. He's as evil as any Nazi ever was. He preached and encouraged violence and death sentences for people like me.
There's no note of grace to extend a twisted animal like that. He needs to be countered with real facts and information about how human beings actually work. His superstitious Christian nonsense has to be forcibly rejected with facts and truth.
And it's critical that we recognize people like him as sociopathic monsters. It's critical that we recognize his message of violence as evil.
He wants people to kill us. He has literally encouraged people to kill us. And they've taken him up on it.
There can be no looking away from that. Instead, it behooves all decent people to point out exactly what a monster he is. Just like we point out how the Nazis were true monsters, evil people.
Scott Lively is practically the definition of evil. Any sort of religious belief that tries to set that aside is also evil.
Because brutal violence against marginalized minorities is evil.
