I do believe you’re right about the Church in the West. It’s effectively without influence or attendance in most of Europe. I lived in Montreal for years, and I witnessed the empty buildings and the complete apathy of most of the population toward the institution that once had been so predominate.

My business partner was a francophone educated by the Christian Brothers, and a generation older than me. It was fascinating listening to him tell stories about living through the Quiet Revolution and the fall of the Church from influence and power.
