I come from a long line of Irish redheaded nurses. Now, back in the day, a nurse had to be super tough. She had to be able to put up with sexist bullshit all day long every day. She had to know how to fight for her patients while doing battle with male doctors who looked down their noses at women in white. (Back before nurses wore scrubs.)

The second best group of people who can read with an entertaining, cutting passion? Besides black gay men? Irish redheaded women nurses! I bet Maggie has some in her family.
