I certainly wouldn’t discount that possibility! The board member herself is a light-skinned woman of Cuban heritage. Cuban people sometimes say colorism is a problem in their society. I know she identifies as Hispanic, but I don’t know if she also identifies as White or if colorism is part of her internal value system. But I wouldn’t be shocked either way.
