I certainly run into my share of homophobic, fascist, gay Trump supporters. Plenty of gay people are homophobic. Why not trans people too?

Actually, I have some personal experience. As I wrote about the other day in my story about Procter and Gamble removing the Venus symbol from packages of sanitary pads, some Facebook LGBTQ support groups I manage went full-throated transphobic when the news came out.

Reactions were seriously disturbing. Listening to a bunch of cis gay men and lesbians trash trans men as entitled whiners was really astonishing, especially given how minor the issue was. A tiny change in packaging design.

But what really got to me was seeing some trans people join the chorus, trashing trans men who menstruate. Gatekeeping? Sure. But worse was the level of personal vitriol.

Seriously disturbing, and transphobic by any definition.
