I can’t speak for all trans people everywhere either, but as an editor of an LGBTQ journal, I know a lot of trans folks. And the trans people I know thought that joke was on point.

Of course the bigger issue here is what you’re pointing out. Jenner is not your average trans person. She enjoys an astounding amount of privilege by virtue of celebrity and money. She seems to use just about none of it to help other trans people.

Hell, she doesn’t seem to make the smallest effort to even know what sorts of challenges ordinary trans people face in life.

If that makes her an easy target for jokes, well, she could do something about that.
