I can’t remember where I read this, but apparently trees are such experts at finding water that combating their roots is it almost hopeless task for some aqua engineers, who at best can declare a draw.

Trees have an uncanny ability to sense and reach for water inside pipes, sometimes fighting for decades until they gain access.

Quite the incredible story.
