I Can’t Read My Friends on Medium Anymore

Why can’t we see stories by writers we follow?

To all my writer friends on Medium. I haven’t stopped enjoying your work, I can’t find you. I want to read your stories, but they’re hidden from me.

For years, I’ve spent two hours with coffee and my Medium app every morning, scrolling down the list of stories by people in my network. But for over a week, that list (at least for me with the Medium Android app) has slowed to a crawl, updated less and less frequently. This morning, most of the stories in my network people list are three days old and older:

See the above screenshot? Look how old it is.

That’s the top of the list of my personal network. I happen to know (because I scheduled it) that the story you see by Emma Holiday went live at roughly 4:00 am Thursday morning. But it didn’t show up in my list of stories to read until nearly 10:00 am Saturday morning.

To say my mornings aren’t complete now is an understatement. I can no longer find the latest work from fav writers like Linda Caroll, Adam, Diabetic Cyborg, kurt gasbarra, Elle Beau ❇︎
