I can't even remember how many times I heard from the pulpit that it's important for a child's will to be broken. I look back now and wonder how I just took that for granted. Accepted it. Took it in as part of the universe's natural order. But I was a child, so I believe what adults told me.
These days, when I write about transgender youth issues as I sometimes do, I always remember how certain Christian parents believe that they must break their child's will.
