I cannot, no matter how much I try, understand the oft-repeated, simplistic bodily autonomy argument about covid vaccination.

We live in a society, surrounded by other people. Covid vaccination is designed to protect all of us, not just individuals. People who refuse to get vaccinated put their families, coworkers and neighbors at great risk of harm. What could be more un-Christian than that?

It would be one thing if the vaccination carried a significant risk of harm itself, but it does not. Around the world, the vaccines have proven to be effective and very safe.

Even so, hospitals remain full and people continue to die. All of us continue to suffer from the consequences, even those of us not directly touched by the deaths.

All because of foolish, childish, irresponsible intransigence.
