I can seriously empathize. I wrote an article on Medium called, Why I Don’t Trust Straight White Men, which is primarily an indictment of ‘bro culture' and pervasive homophobia through a lens of personal experience. Most of the comments I got on Medium were fairly on point, though a few fragile white men jumped down my throat for being a racist. (Like, really? I’m white, I can’t criticize other white guys?)

But on social media, oh my God. It wasn’t just a few fragile white guys, it was a slavering pack of fragile white guys. Hundreds of people screamed ‘racist’ at me without commenting even a little bit on what I actually wrote about.

So …

Why are white men so fragile? I don’t know, but large numbers of them sure seem to be looking for a fight over their whiteness.
