I can only imagine the uproar if the Spanish football president had kissed a male player like that. Nobody would have questioned that the act was inappropriate and violating. Men are presumed to enjoy inviable bodily autonomy, aren't we?
If he'd kissed a male player, I can only imagine the uproar that would have ensued. "Get that nut out of his position!" might well have been worldwide consensus — appropriate consensus because it would have demonstrated that he doesn't understand personal boundaries or respect personal privacy.
So why, when the person he kissed is a woman, are so many people jumping up to defend him?
Those people are telling us they don't believe women are entitled to the same boundaries and privacy as a man.
