I can have plenty of empathy, but I don't understand equating trans healthcare with genocide. The equivocation doesn't make rational sense. Or even emotional sense.
Trans people are a tiny portion of the population. Even if all Black transgender people were killed today, then the total Black population of the United States would not significantly change.
Therefore calling trans healthcare genocide, because it takes away the reproductive capacity of that same tiny percentage of Black people, could not in anyone's wildest imagination be true or anything approaching true.
There's no way to wrap your head around such a claim. The claim is just obviously false, arithmetically so, emotionally so, or in any other way.
I actually asked Dr. Watson to write this piece, himself being a Black professor of history and an anti-racism writer, so we could start putting this false claim to rest.
