I am so sorry about everything you’ve had to experience. I have been writing about the situation in Poland since last summer when the violence came to my attention. The more I learn, the more shocking things seem.

On a political level, it’s hard to believe the European Union isn’t doing more to protect LGBTQ citizens in Poland.

On a religious level, it’s hard to believe that senior leaders of the Catholic Church like Pope Francis are not rebuking Polish bishops and priests who are organizing and inciting homophobic violence.

On a personal level, I wish you the very best. What a tough time with the pandemic going on simultaneously. Jobs are relatively scarce and travel is not wise. That makes living and working elsewhere in the EU less than practical for Polish LGBTQ people.

I wish they were better answers! Keep telling your stories!
