I am so sorry. I went through much of the same pain myself, condemned by those very same words about "lifestyle choice," decades ago, uttered by people who will not make the effort to understand that members of gender and sexual minorities are not choosing a "lifestyle."

We can fill our lives with beloved created family and friends, but the pain of the loss of our natal families is not something we can trivially forget.
