I am so sorry! I read Alexander’s story already and went looking for yours. I woke up early this morning to my elderly English pointer having a coughing fit. He has a heart murmur that causes fluid to accumulate in his lungs. I gave him an extra dose of diuretic, and he’s fine for now, but the day will come, maybe soon, when that doesn’t do the trick anymore.

I dread that, because the loss of a beloved pet really does cause a huge hole.
