I am going to need to consider what you’re writing very carefully this year.

I’ve never been one to take much thought about beauty in my home. I’ve always been a functionalist. I keep my place clean and tidy, but I’ve never put any thought into keeping it beautiful.

People have commented in the past that my apartment looked like a college dorm room. I was okay with that, but I don’t know if I ought to have been okay.

This year, with my dad gone, the house is going to be empty during the holidays.

Why don’t I put up some lovely Thanksgiving arrangements and then decorate the house for Christmas?

Wreaths, scented candles? Why not?

I’m already dreading the holidays. Perhaps decorating can help put me in a better place.
