I already watched police accountability videos pretty much every day that feature police making false accusations of things like theft against people, either out of malicious intent or by careless lack of attention to their investigation.

One thing about police is that they tend to be extraordinarily conservative and xenophobic. If all they have to do is make an accusation to get an immigrant detained, then I imagine the accusations will fly fast and furious, with truthfulness barely (or not at all) a consideration.
