I agree so much with your checklist, but I don’t even know what to say about the odds of it being implemented by everyday Republican politicians.
It seems … unlikely at best.
Republicans seem to be fighting a losing demographic battle, though. They’re playing to an increasingly smaller hardcore base, but they seem willing to fight for short-term success rather than the long-term health of the party.
Will it all come tumbling down when even engaging that base with 100% fervor can no longer do the job? Will that day come soon?
Or will Republican leadership emerge that’s capable of invigorating the party and leading it to more broad-based success?
I guess we’re going to find out, but I’m betting implosion before change.
