I adore Zaz! This song offers an excellent example of her mastery of scat, which so few singers are able to pull off with her level of virtuosity. While I cited her rather melancholy cover of Edith Piaf’s, “Dans ma Rue” yesterday, probably because it was the song that I discovered her through, a lot of her work just forces me to my feet and makes me dance. “Je Veux" is like that!

“La Fée" is something a bit in between. The lyrics verge on the melancholy, but the rhythm and melody are pure foot-tapping joy.
