I adore Ferri's work, but I thought I was nearly alone. Paintings as "representational" as his don't often get lot of respect in the art world, where critics seem to demand more conceptualism, and I think sometimes conflating conceptualism with a need for the abstract.

Anyway, I was delighted to run across this article in my Medium feed just now. Thanks for a lovely read and a chance to catch up with one of my favorite painters.
