I Actually wish this bill would pass. Given the incredible diversity of sincere religious beliefs among the people of Oklahoma, schools would basically have to stop teaching anything at all. Evangelical Christians might think they want this law, and it's easy to see why they would, given that they pretty much think only their religious beliefs are real religious beliefs.

Freedom of religion means freedom for them, and maybe a little bit for Jews – who can help speed up Jesus's return by finally building another temple in Jerusalem.

Freedom of religion certainly doesn't mean freedom for Catholics to practice their faith or Muslims, or – God forbid – polytheists. As to Satanists? Let's not go there and say we did.

But you know what might be most delicious about all this? Mainline Protestant Christians like Episcopalians would legitimately be able to sue over any teachings that contradicted Christian social justice.

Catholics would be able to sue over teachings that contradicted liberation theology. Evangelical Oklahomans would HATE that.

The delicious chaos of it all! 🤣

Bring it on, baby!
