How sad is it that the only thing I really hope now is that history will treat Trump brutally and honestly?

I can’t hope for an easier winter, because it’s not going to happen.

I can sit slack jaw at the idea that Trump killed his own chances for re-election by criminally bungling pandemic management. But that doesn’t save any lives.

I can note that effective fascist leaders can at least keep the trains running on time, whicj can make me feel good about Trump being utterly ineffective — but that doesn’t help my neighbors.

Have we learned our lesson about elevating a narcissistic reality TV show host to high office?

Sadly, I don’t think so.

I’m not seeing any silver linings right now.
