Henry has lived his entire life in Texas. Why would he choose to ignore his personal experiences to write about cultures he has never experienced? The spiritual angst he's describing has nothing to do with Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. It's a product of his own culture. Are you suggesting that he should be content with his lot because people elsewhere in the world have things worse than he does? That would be an odd argument that, if generally applied, could be used to stop progress in almost any field of human endeavor.
For example, why push for better consumer safety? Theoretical argument: "People living in Pakistan have much less confidence in the safety of consumer products than people living in the Texas, therefore people living in Texas should be content with the state of Texas consumer safety laws and regulations."
Most people would recognize the fallacies in that argument and not even consider it.
One of the specific fallacies I'm referring to, by the way, is called "Whataboutism."
