Hell, I recognized everything you described! Doesn’t seem like all that much has changed. People told me I’d missed the real New York when I arrived in 1990.

I DID get to experience Times Square before Disneyfication, but all the peep shows and discarded syringes were honestly not all that charming. ;-)
