Hear hear. To try to put things in perspective, I sometimes like to remind people that I’ve been to Mardi Gras celebrations and Pride celebrations all over the world.

And when I say Mardi Gras, I don’t mean the Sydney-style queer kind. I’m talking about the overwhelmingly straight version like in New Orleans, Rio de Janeiro, etc.

I’ve seen more overt, straight hypersexuality and nudity in 1 hour of any Mardi Gras celebration I’ve been to than in every Pride celebration put together that I’ve attended since 1990.

So I get really bored when people try to talk about sexuality being a problem at Pride. It’s not sexuality people are objecting to, it’s queerness.
