Hear hear. I wrote a similar piece last summer, from my own point of view as a “traditionally” radical queer activist.

I’m decidedly not the picket fence, moderate species of gay man, but all the queer-sourced hate directed at Buttigieg saddened and angered me.

When I was out in the streets back in the day, shouting “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it,” I was shouting (in part) for people like Pete who want to fall in love and live a life. And if they want picked fences? More power to them, even if I pass on that kind of life.

Diversity is supposed to mean we all make the choices that lead to happiness and fulfillment.

Diversity isn’t supposed to limit and gate keep.
