Hear hear!

First, thanks for the interesting read. Body positive pool parties are outside my personal experience, but they sound cool as hell, and I love the idea.

Second, I really appreciate your writing about plagiarism. As a writer, I’ve been plagiarized, directly and blatantly — entire sentences and paragraphs lifted. Seeing somebody steal my work in order to profit is pretty distressing.

On the other hand, as I storyteller, I’ve had people sneer at me and tell me that what I’m writing isn’t unique or isn’t important because somebody else has written about it before.

That just puzzles me. The totality of human experience is finite. Sharing our stories matters. Storytelling isn’t a race to the starting line.

It’s a process, a shared experience.

We shouldn’t be shy about sharing because we worry that others told a similar story before we did.
