Headlines are life and death! I’ve sometimes had a story flop and then a few weeks or months later repackaged it with a better headline only to see it go viral.
One little bit of good advice I could add about subtitles: if you promote your work on social media, don’t count on the subtitle showing up in the story link. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. So the headline must work on its own.
