Hard for me to say. I was seven in 1969, so I don't think I was really paying attention. By a couple years later, my family was mostly listening to a local Christian radio station they played an eclectic mix of formal church music, emerging Christian pop, and "wholesome" secular music.

If I had to guess, that's probably how I heard Man From Galilee.

The radio station still exists, though of course these days they have an entire Christian music industry to provide material.
