Hang in there, BFoundAPen !
Sadly, it’s a common human experience that the heart wants what the heart wants.
Moving on is really hard. Doubting ourselves is what we do. You face different challenges because of being trans, Brian, but experiencing the loss is universal.
Just ask Fred Shirley about the heart doing its own thing despite the head knowing better.
The thing is that we have to stay strong and not let that nagging little voice in our head convince us that it’s right.
Because, you see, there is somebody special out there for you. Faith — you gotta have it.
I know how terrible it feels when the person you want doesn’t want you back the same way. It makes you doubt yourself and everything about yourself.
Until the one day comes along (and it will!) that lightening strikes. You meet someone who who is attracted to for just exactly who you are.
They look at you and their eyes melt. Yours do the same when you look back.
You cry when you make love.
That’s gonna happen for you, Brian. Mark my words. People with open hearts and exploring minds find love much more readily than others.
Stay strong and have faith.
You got this. :-)
