Ha! When I studied computer programming in high school back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, we wrote code in Fortran and Cobol that our teacher would tote up to the university over the weekend in the form of punch cards to run through their mainframe computer.
We thought that was cool as fuck until the school bought an Apple II. (The IIc was years down the road yet.) I started writing code in Basic and assembler, thinking that was just the coolest thing in the universe. It was just a matter of days or weeks before some students figured out how to make text-based animation, and it wasn’t long before crude porn was being passed along from trapper keeper to trapper keeper in the form of floppy disks.
