As to the infant circumcision sub-theme, if I could just add to your excellent list of reasons against, I've learned from personal experience that the negative consequences of circumcision grow worse when you're older.

Decades of callousing of the sensitive glans have consequences. I'm a decade younger than you are, but already at 60 I've noticed a marked decrease in glans sensitivity that older intact men don't seem to suffer.

It's not the end of the world, but it's a loss and a senseless one that I regret.

But anyway, enough of that. I really enjoyed your story, and I thank you very much for sharing it.
