To add a tiny bit, as one of the first members of Queer Nation and as someone who often marched in the streets that violence-filled summer of 1990 that spawned Queer Nation, I can observe that what we were usually chanting was, “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it.”

We rarely left off that last part.
