Great article!

Now let me disagree with you a little bit. (Sorry!)

Never underestimate the human capacity for conspiracy theory and denial of reality. During the height of the HIV crisis in the late 1980s and early 1990s, a very sizable contingent of HIV deniers existed. They were led by a few physicians and scientists on the fringes who insisted that HIV did not cause AIDS. Don’t get tested for HIV, they would say. Don’t buy the myth that certain kinds of sex predispose you to getting AIDS. Don’t take the few antivirals available that might help you live longer, because there are hoax and might actually be causing AIDS in the first place.

Now here’s the thing, not all people with AIDS, but many people with AIDS if not most, developed very visible Kaposi’s Sarcoma lesions. Which look much like leprosy.
